The Cayman New Resident was created by Joanna Boxall, with a lot of help from family and friends. She is a Caymanian born and raised and runs the company with her husband and business partner Charlie Grover. They have another magazine called Good Taste - Cayman's definitive food, wine and restaurant guide. The 2007 issue is now out and features over 90% of Cayman's top restaurants.
Joanna Boxall was born and raised in Grand Cayman. After Catholic School here and boarding school in England, she gained her BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science at King’s College, London University. The tremendous growth in Cayman through the 1980’s and 90’s encouraged her to found New Resident in 2003. The 5th annual edition of New Resident magazine (the 2008 issue) has just hit the streets and is looking better than ever!
Charles Grover was born and brought up in England, graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Engineering and Business Studies. He came to Cayman in 2005. He previously worked as European marketing director for an American software company. As a genuine “New Resident” Charlie has immediately provided fresh input to the magazine. His hobbies include sailing, diving and tennis and, the not so compatible with Cayman, climbing, skiing and trekking.
