Kindergarten, Primary & High Schools

Last Updated: 19th July 2013

Cayman has an array of excellent schools, each following either the British or American curriculum. If your child goes to a school which follows the British system, your child will enter Kindergarten (or Reception year) in the September of the school year in which they will turn five (i.e. they must be 4 by September 1st of the year they start). Your child will then go on to Grade 1 the following year. In the American system, your child will start at the same age but will enter Pre-K at the age of 4 and Kindergarten the following year when they are 5. There is no major difference in the curriculum content for each age group between the US and the UK system, just a difference in the naming of the different levels in the system.
