To assist you in establishing a social life in Cayman, this section lists and gives detailed information on the Islands’ social clubs, golf courses, service clubs and voluntary organisations. There are many groups you can join to make new friends, including service organisations like Rotary and the Lion’s Club, hobbyist groups like the Wine & Food and Drama Societies and the Garden Club and sports clubs like the Rugby, Sailing and Tennis Clubs. For the civic-minded, there is the National Choir, National Orchestra and National Gallery. OVERVIEW OF CAYMAN’S SOCIAL SCENE As a whole, residents of the Cayman Islands are very civic-minded and socially responsible. They join clubs, volunteer their time and resources and generally give back whenever and wherever they can. The following list includes numerous social clubs and voluntary organisations, so whether you are working and have little free time, or are a stay at home spouse and have lots of time, you are sure to find something that will help you meet people and give you much personal satisfaction.
Parents will often meet people through their children’s activities, and for the single, younger crowd the local bar scene is very well established. One nice thing about Cayman is that because the weather is always lovely and there is never a very long commute to work, people make more use of their leisure time.
