This section describes in detail how to build a social life in Cayman. We list and give detailed information on Cayman’s social clubs, golf courses, service clubs and voluntary organisations. We suggest clubs you can join to make friends, like Rotary, the Lions Club, Wine & Food Society, the Rugby Club, Sailing Club, Tennis Club, Garden Club, Drama Society and then the National Choir, National Orchestra and the National Gallery. We list the various religious denominations from Christian to Jewish, to Muslim and Hindu. We let you know who to contact and when their weekly services are held.
Overview of Cayman’s Social Scene
As a whole, residents of the Cayman Islands are very civic minded and socially responsible people. They join clubs, volunteer their time and resources and generally give back whenever and wherever they can. You will find from the list below many options for social clubs and voluntary organisations, so whether you are working and have little free time, or are a stay-at-home spouse and have lots of time, you are sure to find something that will help you meet people and give you much personal satisfaction.
You can make friends and meet people by joining a club or doing a sporting activity. Parents will often meet people through their children and for the single, younger crowd the bar scene is very well established. The nice thing about Cayman is that because the weather is always lovely and because there is never a very long commute to work people make more use of their leisure time.
