NEWS SERVICES
Local News
If you want to keep on top of local news you have a couple of options. There are the daily newspapers: Cayman Compass, Cayman Net News and the Cayman Observer (published over the weekend). There is also a well respected online source called Cayman News Service which covers specific news as it relates to Cayman (www.caymannewsservice.com).
Overseas Newspapers
The supermarkets sometimes carry overseas newspapers, but they are often a day or two out of date. NCI Services has a licence agreement with the publishers of more than 500 titles, enabling them to print the newspapers here in Cayman and deliver them to your door (usually before 8am on the day of publication). The cost is between CI$4.25 and CI$7.50, depending on the newspaper and whether it is a weekday or weekend edition. Email: info@nci.ky or call (345) 943 4624 to arrange service.
GETTING ESTABLISHED
Once You Are Settled
In general, Caymanians are very civic-minded people and often will donate some of their spare time to one of the many worthy causes on the Island. If you would also like to contribute and give something back to the community, there are many voluntary, as well as social and cultural organisations, which will welcome you with open arms. It is also a great way to meet people. Much more information is listed in the Social Life chapter, but here are a few options to consider:

How to Find People & Be Found
We have two telephone directories which list residential and business phone numbers and addresses: the Cable & Wireless (Lime) phone book and the Cayman Buzz. If you sign up for a Cable & Wireless phone you will automatically be listed in their phone book. The Buzz will list you for free if you call and ask to be included. If you need to locate a precise address, you can buy the government road atlas or use its online version at www.caymanlandinfo.ky.
